We recruit Forward Deployed Engineers & AI Deployment Engineers.
OnwardDeployed works inside your hiring process to find, screen and place engineers who take AI systems into production, not just build them.
Hiring AI deployment talent is not like hiring another engineer.
The pool is small, and shrinking
The pool of engineers who have genuinely taken an AI system into production is small across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and demand for it is high. Every week you delay, a competitor gets to the same candidate first.
Generalist recruiting doesn't work here
Generalist technical recruiting works on resemblance. A brief becomes a keyword string, and the string returns people who look like your last hire. That works for most engineering roles. It fails for AI deployment hiring, because the capability does not sit under a single job title. Search on "Forward Deployed Engineer" or "AI Deployment Engineer" and you get a small, named group that every hiring organisation in the region is contacting at the same time.
The role sits between two disciplines
The role also sits between two disciplines. It needs enough software engineering to integrate real systems, and enough business fluency to sit with a stakeholder and turn a vague requirement into technical decisions. Where there is no framework for that hybrid, the brief defaults to one side and the search is wrong before it starts.
Speed you don't have
Finding the right engineer for your specific deployment problem takes technical acumen. Closing them takes speed your internal team cannot spare while they are stretched across every other role you are hiring for.
AI deployment hiring needs someone exclusive. Someone who embeds in your hiring process and whose only job is this one.
One capability. Many titles.
We search on demonstrated deployment capability, not job title. Whether the brief says Forward Deployed Engineer, AI Deployment Engineer or something else entirely, our recruitment approach finds the engineers who have deployed AI in organisations.
Forward Deployed Recruitment Service.
OnwardDeployed's Forward Deployed Recruitment Service (FDRS) is a specialised hiring model built around one capability. It is how we find, assess and place Forward Deployed Engineers and AI Deployment Engineers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Every engagement is run by a Forward Deployed Recruiter, an FDR. An FDR embeds directly in your hiring process, the same way a deployment engineer embeds inside a customer's operation. They sit in your planning conversations, understand the systems the hire will be dropped into, and speak about your product in the same detail your own team would.
An FDR combines two things a generalist recruiter never has in one person: the technical fluency to evaluate deployment capability firsthand, and the market research to know where that capability actually sits, including in candidates whose job titles say nothing about it. The FDR runs it, end to end.
There is no account manager, no handoff to a delivery pod, and no shared inbox. The person who takes the brief is the person who sources the candidates, runs the assessment, and calls you on the day the offer is signed.
What an FDR looks for in a deployment-capable engineer.
Production ownership
They have carried something they built into production and stayed with it, on call, patching, answering for it when it broke at a customer site.
Stakeholder fluency
They can sit in a room with an operations director who does not write code, extract the real requirement, and push back when the request is wrong.
Greenfield experience
They have started from an empty repository and an ambiguous problem statement, and shipped something usable inside weeks rather than quarters.
Naming real problems
In interview they describe what actually failed, in specifics, without rehearsing a narrative. Deployment work rewards people who say the uncomfortable thing early.
The best deployment engineers aren't out there searching. We find them anyway.
Six steps. One Forward Deployed Recruiter. End to end.
Our process is built for one goal: placing Forward Deployed Engineers and AI Deployment Engineers faster, with better quality and a more consistent candidate experience.
Qualification and kickoff
We start with a kickoff session with the hiring manager and HR. We understand the HR and compliance requirements and agree on recruitment checkpoints. We map the systems, the deployment project, and the first ninety days. We agree the scorecard before any outreach. Your FDR is introduced and works directly with the hiring manager from this point on.
Sourcing
Your FDR uses data-driven market research and domain expertise to identify relevant candidates across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the wider region, plus relocation-ready candidates from MENA, South Asia, Europe and the US. We search on capability rather than job title, which reaches the engineers a title-based search never surfaces.
Assessment
Every candidate is screened by the FDR, not an AI model. We run a structured technical and situational conversation against the scorecard and deliver a detailed candidate evaluation to the hiring manager. We assess what they actually put into production, not a forwarded CV.
Interview process design
Unlike typical engineering interviews built around a whiteboard exercise, deployment roles need a realistic deployment exercise. But organisations run the risk of designing long interview loops that lose candidates. Our FDRs fix that by helping you design and implement the right interview process and candidate assessment rubric.
Candidate management
In this stage we manage candidate experience and reduce hiring risk for the client. We surface concerns on both sides early, such as salary expectations, notice periods, and competing offers, so nothing derails the process at the final stage.
Negotiation and close
Our FDRs are skilled in handling the offer conversation end to end: compensation, relocation support, visa timing, and counter-offer risk. We hand the candidate over to your internal HR team to complete onboarding.
A decade placing the engineers who make AI work in production.
Sheerin has 15 years of experience in Search & Selection, 12 of them dedicated to AI, machine learning and big data. She has been hiring Forward Deployed Engineers and AI Deployment Engineers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as both an internal recruiter and an external recruitment consultant, from startups to Fortune 500 companies to government enterprises. She has discovered and persuaded top-level AI executives, AI engineers, and AI researchers from NVIDIA, Google, AWS, IBM, Huawei, and other major global brands to relocate to the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar and join her clients' teams.
At the Technology Innovation Institute in Abu Dhabi she worked on hiring for the FALCON LLM programme, the UAE's flagship generative AI initiative, sourcing engineers and researchers into the teams behind it, and later into the teams that took the work into deployment.
She founded OnwardDeployed to bring that same specialist, embedded approach to AI deployment hiring in the region: a category with real demand, no settled job title, and no established playbook.
Based in the UAE. Serves clients across the globe.
What clients ask first.
01What is an AI deployment engineer?
An AI deployment engineer takes an AI system out of the lab and into live business use, integrating it with real systems, real data and real users, then staying accountable for it once it is running. The work sits between software engineering and consulting: enough engineering to build and integrate, enough business fluency to sit with a stakeholder and turn a vague requirement into technical decisions. Job titles vary widely. The capability does not.
02Is Forward Deployed Engineer a real, standardised role?
Yes. Forward Deployed Engineer started as a title at companies like Palantir, for engineers who build and own software directly inside a customer's environment. The title varies across companies, but the work stays consistent: build something real inside a customer's systems, and stay accountable when it breaks. It is one of several titles for the same deployment capability.
03What job titles does AI deployment talent hide behind?
Forward Deployed Engineer, AI Deployment Engineer, AI Solutions Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, AI Implementation Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, MLOps Engineer, AI Platform Engineer, AI Solutions Architect and Deployment Lead are all titles we search under. Because the capability is not tied to a title, searching on title alone returns a fraction of the real pool, which is why most searches for this profile stall.
04We already work with agencies. Why add another?
Most of our clients keep their generalist suppliers for platform, data and backend roles. We bring one recruiter, embedded directly with your hiring manager, using structured market research and human judgment to find and evaluate candidates a generalist search misses. Working directly with the hiring manager is what speeds up the process and improves quality control. If a search overlaps with an incumbent, we say so before we start.
05How is this different from RPO?
RPO typically covers many roles across your hiring plan, often with a rotating team behind the account. Our model, Forward Deployed Recruitment Service (FDRS), is one recruiter dedicated to your deployment hiring, who stays with you from the first conversation to the signed offer. Your FDR also has the technical depth to challenge the brief when it's wrong, not just execute it, and stays focused on closing your search instead of managing it alongside a dozen others.
06What is a Forward Deployed Recruiter?
An FDR is the recruiter who runs your search end to end. They embed directly with your hiring manager, source and screen candidates personally, and stay with the mandate from kickoff to signed offer, no handoffs, no account manager. Unlike a traditional sourcer working off a job spec at a distance, your FDR understands the deployment problem firsthand, which means fewer misaligned candidates, faster decisions, and a search that adjusts as your requirement does.
07Where do you search for AI deployment engineers?
Wherever the role requires. We map the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the wider GCC first, then broader MENA, South Asia, Europe and the US for relocation-ready candidates. What we are selective about is the client: we work with companies genuinely committed to the hire, not organisations testing the market or hiring to replace someone quickly. For committed clients, we negotiate directly with the candidate on compensation and every other condition needed to relocate them.
08How is this different from AI-driven recruiting platforms?
We use AI-assisted sourcing and market mapping alongside your FDR's own research and judgment. Your FDR does the screening, not a model. A platform can tell you who resembles your brief; it cannot tell you whether an engineer was genuinely accountable when a deployment failed at a customer site. That distinction is the entire job.
09How long does it take to hire an AI deployment engineer in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Qatar?
It depends on whether the hire is local or relocating. A local hire typically moves faster; a relocating candidate adds a 60 to 90 day notice period plus visa and work permit processing on top of the search itself. We give you a realistic view of both at kickoff rather than an optimistic one, and we set the compensation band against live market evidence before the first candidate is approached, because a band that is out of step with the profile is the most common reason these searches stall.
10What does an AI deployment engineer earn in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Qatar?
There's no single published benchmark for this profile across the region, which is itself part of why the hiring is hard. Compensation moves with three things: how much genuine production ownership the candidate has, whether they're already based in the market or relocating, and how business-facing the role is. We set a realistic band with you at kickoff against live market evidence, rather than a generic salary survey, and flag it early if the band and the role's requirements are in tension.
11Do you recruit for Generative AI and LLM deployment roles?
Yes. Generative AI Engineer and AI Integration Engineer are two of the titles we search under, alongside Forward Deployed Engineer, AI Deployment Engineer and the others listed above. The same standard applies regardless of title: production ownership, not demo-building.
12Do you recruit AI deployment engineers in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Saudi Arabia is one of our three core markets, alongside the UAE and Qatar. Demand is accelerating quickly, the Kingdom designated 2026 the Year of Artificial Intelligence, and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has set a national target of 10,000 trained AI professionals by 2030, which means real, production-stage hiring rather than pilot-stage experimentation. The role is newer to the Saudi market than to the UAE's, which is exactly where searching on capability rather than job title matters most.
13Do you recruit AI deployment engineers in Qatar?
Yes. Qatar is one of our three core markets, alongside the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It's a smaller market than the other two, but genuine demand exists, driven in part by national AI programmes and new AI governance requirements now facing regulated sectors like banking, which push organisations toward hiring real deployment capability rather than running informal pilots. It's also currently underserved by specialist recruiters.
What the first conversation looks like.
A short call. No pitch deck. No pre-work required.
What you are deploying, and to whom
Thirty minutes on the system, the environments it has to run in, and where engineering time is currently disappearing.
Whether it is really a deployment role
Sometimes it is a solutions architect, sometimes a platform or data hire. We will tell you if it is, and we will not pitch you a search you do not need.
What a search would look like
Realistic timelines, the market for that profile in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and terms. You leave with a view of the market whether or not we work together.
